Founded by David Diallo in Berlin in 2008, the Noah Foundation engages in uniting innovative project concepts, funding and local-knowledge for the progression of responsible sustainable development in the global south.
Board

David Diallo studied at the European business school ESCP where he obtained master degrees in Germany, the UK and France. David is a dynamic and successful entrepreneur, founder of several successful German internet companies with a long-term commitment to social investment and a GEXSi - Global Exchange for Social Investment - partner. As a founding partner of the Genisis Institute for Social Business, David is also active in furthering the field of social business research.
Director

Christina von Heyden studied Geography, Sociology, Ethnology and Psychology in Berlin and obtained her diploma degree in 2008. Before becoming the Director of the Noah Foundation in July 2010, she was working for several non-profit organizations, including the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Fairfood, the AIAS - Aachener Institut für Afghanistan - and the GTZ - Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit. She is still involved in the latter and has also been employed as research associate at the World Health Summit 2010, Charité Berlin. Her motivation is driven by the simple vision of a fair-minded and sustainable earth for all its inhabitants.
Project leader housing/ urban design

Rainer Hehl is an architect and urban planner currently directing the Master of Advanced Studies Urban Design program at the ETH Zurich. He has been working as project architect at DillerScofidio+Renfro and the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in New York. His dissertation work is concentrated on urbanization strategies for informal settlements with case studies in Rio de Janeiro. As curator for the 4th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam 2009 he was initiating exemplary test-site projects in Paraisópolis one of the largest Favelas of São Paulo. Together with Jörg Stollmann he is founder of the non-profit association and online network urbaninform.
Project leader sanitation

Noa Lerner is a Berlin-based industrial designer. She finished her studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin in 2008. Through her work she tries to create a constant dialogue between technology, simplicity, design and emotion. The x-runner project was a concept that was developed as part of her diploma thesis at the UDK (Universität der Künste) in a cooperation between her, the World Toilet Organization and betterplace.org. This cooperation was her beginning as an entrepreneur within the realm of social business.
Scholarship holder

Zafitsiory Rasoloheritsimba obtained his master in Economy at the state University of Antanananarivo (Madagascar) and is currently writing his Diploma-Thesis at the University of Frankfurt am Main. He is dedicated to social entrepreneurship as well as analysing new concepts to achieve a sustainable economic development for the bottom of the pyramide.
